Forrest is a geographer with expertise in geography and geographic information science (GIS) education. His work seeks to understand how novices build knowledge, skills, and practices in GIS, especially in introductory courses. Further, as the required skillset of GIS practitioners expands into computational science, thinking, and programming, he studies how courses and curricula change to adapt to these additional components.
