My research endeavors to understand how organizations from knowledge-intensive industries innovate. My research uses knowledge- and resource-based perspectives, organizational learning, and behavioral theories to explain organizational behavior at the intersection of innovation and performance. I focus on 2 broad research streams: (1) organizational drivers of innovation, and (2) individual (CEO) drivers of innovation. In the first research stream I have a couple of manuscripts I am currently working on focusing on defining a more complete image of firms’ innovation by studying the antecedents, moderators, and performance consequences of innovating through patenting and alliances. In my second research stream, my current work leverages racial diversity and CEO personality & motivation drivers of innovation. I am looking for collaborators from the psychology, sociology, statistics, economics, computer science, and/or engineering domains.
